I got up quite early and left with only a Power Bar for breakfast at 8:30 AM. This early there was hardly any traffic on the road. In Lowell, that is after 40 km I had a huge breakfast. Outside the restaurant I met an American bicyclist. He was older and had a completely white beard. He was on his way to Missoula to meet up with an Adventure Cycling group. He also told me that he met the Dutch couple in Kooskia in the early morning.

The ride to Kooskia was fairly easy, but at 1 PM the heat set in and by the time I reached Kooskia at 3 PM it was unbearable.

I booked a room in the downtown motel. From here the Post Office, Laundromat, Supermarket and some restaurants were within 50 m. I went to the Post Office and sent some books and some flyers from Missoula home; this way I could reduce my luggage by 1 kg. I also got my laundry done. I was surprised to see that the store in this little town sells Müsli. I bought a pack so that I won't be without breakfast anymore.

As it will be very hot again tomorrow and I have an uphill trip, I will have to leave very early. Being in a motel should help; except for the evil TV which makes me watch it... My butt is sore, literally...
